Facebook Marketing Tools: 34+ Ultimate List

Facebook Marketing Tools 34+ Ultimate List

Would you like to get better results with Facebook ads? It’s no surprise that throughout the years, more and more people started advertising on Facebook which made it more difficult. It’s why we made a list of Facebook marketing tools.

Here’s what Facebook has to say about its platform:

“You don’t have to be an expert to start advertising on Facebook. Create and run campaigns using simple self-service tools, and track their performance with easy-to-read reports. More than two billion people use Facebook every month – so no matter what kind of audience you want to reach, you’ll find them here.”

These Facebook marketing tools can help you:

1. Run your Facebook ads in general

2. Design better Facebook ads

3. Do better research for your ads

4. Have access to better analytics

5. Design better landing pages for your Facebook ads

6. Improve your conversational flow with messenger

The goal here is to truly use Facebook ads to its full capacity to maximize your results, and some of these tools can help you reach that goal.

General Toolbox

1. Facebook Ads Manager

Facebook Ads Manager

What this tool does: You can do pretty much everything inside the business manager. It’s where you see your statistics, create your ads, optimize your ads, create custom audiences, etc. There are tons of functionalities there that could help you tremendously.

Should you use it? If you are running Facebook ads, you’ll need to use this tool because it’s where you actually create your Facebook ads.

2. Facebook Ads Manager App

Facebook ads manager app

What this tool does: You can track ad performance, exit existing ads, edit ad budgets and schedules, receive push notifications and create ads (although it’s better to do it from a desktop).

Should you use it? If you are running Facebook ads, I recommend you use it in case there’s a problem and you only have your phone nearby. I would recommend using the computer version at all times if you can though because it’s more complete.

Design Facebook Marketing Tools

3. Canva

Canva

What this tool does: You can create any design you want using font choices, your own images, a bunch of elements, and so on. It’s a great tool to design Facebook images ads or even carousel ads.

Should you use it? I think you should use Canva if you can’t use Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Canva is definitely good if you aren’t using any design software, but it’s clearly not the most advanced one. It’s a good place to start though.

4. Pablo by Buffer

Pablo by Buffer

What this tool does: This tool resembles Canva. You can create simple designs using some drag-and-drop no coding images. The designs are more restricted than Canva though.

Should you use this tool? I recommend using Canva because this tool has fewer functionalities.

5. CoSchedule

CoSchedule

What this tool does: This tool allows you to create an editorial calendar to organize your content from blogs to social media posts. It’s a great way to make sure you don’t miss deadlines and stay organized in your ad creation.

Should you use it? We truly recommend having some form of organization. We use Trello, but a tool like CoSchedule might do the trick as well.

6. Text Overlay Tool

Text Overlay Tool

What this tool does: This tool allows you to check if your image design has too much text.

Should you use it? We recommend using it, although Facebook will tell you if you have too much text in your image. Something else to note is that some image ads that have too much text in their image still run well. Make sure to take this information with a grain of salt.

7. Unsplash

Unsplash

What this tool does: This tool has a lot of amazing HD pictures that you can use royalty-free. It’s probably the best resource out there brought to you by Squarespace.

Should you use it? We don’t recommend stock photo’s for advertising, but you could design something nice that looks native using Unsplash & Canva for example.

8. Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator

What this tool does: This is our favourite tool to create amazing graphic design, anything focused on vectors. This is the tool we use the most to create our Facebook ads images. You can do pretty much anything you can imagine in your head in terms of images.

A lot of people ask us the difference between Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop. Illustrator is used more for 2D, icons, logos, drawing, while Photoshop is used more to create realistic images and edit them.

Should you use it? Although this is the best tool, it isn’t free and it takes obviously a lot of expertise to create amazing designs. If you have the time to learn, then go ahead because it is one of the best tools you can use to create high performing Facebook ads creative.

9. Adobe After Effects

Adobe After Effects

What this tool does: This is one of our favourite tools to create videos alongside Final Cut Pro. Like any Adobe product, is it an advanced tool, meaning you can almost create anything you imagine but it demands a lot of expertise and the software isn’t free.

Should you use it? If you want to create video ads I strongly recommend software that can help you create amazing videos, because videos are way more complex than images.

10. Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro

What this tool does: This tool is our favourite when it comes to creating Facebook video ads. You can again do anything you could imagine, but the software isn’t free and you do need strong expertise.

Should you use it? Yes, for videos, we recommend choosing between Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro, because it’s hard to make amazing videos and software like these allow you a chance to create a winning Facebook ad.

11. Photoshop

Adobe

What this tool does: Photoshop is one of the best tools to improve your realistic images such as portraits, landscapes, etc. If you have people using your product and want to add a nice background with elements, then Photoshop should be the tool for you. If you want to add 2D illustrations, then Illustrator would be what we recommend.

Should you use it? We recommend you use Adobe Illustrators & Photoshop, although the essential pack would be photoshop to improve your images. If you can, get the full Adobe Suite and you’ll everything: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and much more.

12. Design Pickle

Design Pickle

What this tool does: It’s not really a tool, but it works like one. For a flat fee, Design Pickle does all your graphic design. Although the quality might not be the best you can get, it’s a good start to help your brand have a graphic design that stands out on Facebook.

Should you use it? We recommend using Canva first because it’s so easy. Design Pickle could be a middle ground between using Canva and getting someone to use the Adobe creative suite in terms of quality.

13. Get Matcha

Get Matcha

What does this tool do? Matcha (link: www.getmatcha.com) is a content marketing platform built for small businesses. With Matcha, you can instantly publish from a library of 10,000+ professionally written articles directly to your blog.

We added it to our list of Facebook marketing tools list because once those articles are published, you can use them in Facebook and Instagram ads to attract new visitors and capture more email subscribers.

Should you use it? We’ve never used it because we write our own content. If you want to have content for your Facebook ads and have a very small budget, it’s a great start, but long term we think you’ll benefit more from having your content written either in-house or by an agency like us.

14. Design Wizard

Design Wizard
Design Wizard

What does this tool do? You can create impressive image designs and videos in minutes which is perfect for social media marketing, such as Facebook image and video ads.

We added it to our list of Facebook marketing tools list because editing your images and Facebook ads are really useful. Sometimes, you want to do an A/B test and need to modify just one or two things. It’s where Design Wizard can really help out.

Should you use it? Yes, Design Wizard stands out because you can also create videos along with your image designs. The ability to add text to video is also really important since Facebook loves videos with captions.

New Facebook Dashboard Tools

15. Drift Rock

Drift Rock

What this tool does: This Facebook marketing tool is like Facebook ads on steroids. Here are a few amazing features they offer:

  • Enable Facebook Lead Ads and LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms, by syncing leads to your client CRM systems.
  • Track and analyze campaigns online to offline to get the full impact of your media to spend.
  • Enable lifecycle marketing on Facebook and Google with automated audiences.
  • Deliver local, personalized campaigns at scale without needing a small army.
  • Scale and manage Facebook Custom Audience and Google Customer Match campaigns on Facebook, without touching personal data as an agency.
  • Multi-channel stats across Facebook, Google and LinkedIn under one roof. Ask us about our API too.

Should you use it? This is definitely an advanced tool. We wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t have an overall ad spend above $100K per month.

16. Qwaya

Qwaya Facebook Marketing Tool

What this tool does: This is also an advanced tool that can help simplify certain Facebook tasks that you can do for free but it would definitely be more complicated. Here a few features:

  • Ad scheduler: schedule campaigns to run a certain time and/or week.
  • Ad and campaign rule: define performance-based rules to pause your campaigns.
  • Ad rotation: The auto-rotation of ads lets you decide what ad variation should run before Facebook does.
  • URL builder: lets you save your work and makes it easy to reuse.
  • Google Analytics tagging: automated URL tagging for Google Analytics.
  • Targeting and ad templates: lets you save your work and makes it easy to reuse.
  • Campaign organizer: drag and drop campaigns into folders for a structured overview.
  • Split testing: for creatives and audiences
  • Multi-product ads: sell more products with Facebook’s successful new ad format

Should you use it? We’ve never used Qwaya because all they offer is easily doable for free if you train your team. If you don’t want to train your team to do so, then I suggest you try them out since they are not that expensive.

17. Hootsuite

Hootsuite Facebook Marketing Tool

What this tool does: This tool is similar to Coschedule, although I don’t like its design as much. You can schedule your social media posts, curate content, have access to analytics and promote your social media posts.

Should you use it? The only function that is interesting is the content scheduling since it keeps you organized, but I recommend running your ads from the business manager itself and you’ll have all the analytics you need there as well.

18. AdRoll

AdRoll

What this tool does: It’s essentially a tool that runs your entire paid campaigns on multiple channels including Facebook ads. They allow you to track accurately, launch retargeting campaigns, etc.

Should you use it? If you want to run your own Facebook ads, we recommend you do so. Tools like these can have good results but will always limit your growth compared to doing it yourself.

19. Perfect Audience

Perfect Audience

What this tool does: This tool takes care of your retargeting for you for Facebook but also mobile and web paid to advertise.

Should you use it? It’s a great Facebook marketing tool if you don’t know how to run your retargeting. This tool might outperform you in the beginning, but once you become good at retargeting, you’ll get way better results manually.

20. Metigy

Metigy dashboard

Metigy gives you AI-powered real-time insights, recommendations & resources to help even novice marketers achieve 2x-3x improvement quarter on quarter. They have good customer support and ensure that your marketing opportunities are capitalized upon.

Research Facebook Marketing Tools

21. BuzzSumo

BuzzSumo

What this tool does: As it says in the banner, this tool allows you to find content that has a lot of social shares and performs well currently. It can really help in giving you data-backed content ideas.

Should you use it? We believe this is an amazing tool because it allows you to make sure the content you create has chances of getting good results. We do recommend taking it with a grain of salt and focusing on getting inspiration from that content, not copying it. From our experience, content that performs well is unique.

22. Adscook

Facebook marketing tool
Adscook

What this tool does: This Facebook marketing tool allows your brand to create tons of ads, optimize them automatically and monitor the performance all from the same dashboard.

Should you use it? It’s nothing new that running ads can be time consuming, especially when you are creating tons of split tests. This tool can definitely save you time & money if you are spending a lot of time on the Facebook ads dashboard.

23. Connectio

Connectio Facebook Marketing Tool

What this tool does: This tool offers 5 main interesting features:

  • ConnectAudience: easily Synchronize your Autoresponder into Facebook™ Custom Audiences
  • ConnectRetarget: connect your Facebook™ Lead Ads to your CRM/Autoresponder.
  • ConnectLeads: run Retargeting Campaigns based on how people behave on your website
  • ConnectExplore: find interests and take the guesswork out of interest targeting.
  • ConnectAutomate: turn your Best Performing Facebook™ Posts Into Ads – On Autopilot

Should you use it? We recommend this tool in our Facebook marketing tools list because some of the features they offer are quite amazing and not available anywhere else. For example, the ConnectExplore feature allows you to know which interest works for you while you can’t do that on Facebook. You can also create custom audiences that aren’t available in the business manager.

24. Facebook Ad Library

Facebook Ad Library

What this tool does: This is our favourite way of researching what our competitors are doing in the Facebook ads department. You can insert a Facebook page of one of your competitors and see all the ads they are actively running.

Should you use it? Yes. It’s free and gives you an infinite amount of Facebook ads ideas, make sure to use it. Just make a list of your top competitors and take a look at what type of ads they are running to get inspiration.

25. Ad Espresso

Ad Espresso

What this tool does: AdEspresso is a software that offers many features around Facebook ads. You can:

  • Create your campaigns
  • Analyze your campaigns
  • Optimize your campaigns
  • Create PDF reports
  • Synchronize your CRM
  • Create automatic page post promotion
  • Do campaign approval
  • Onboarding requests
  • Grid composer
  • Dynamic product ads
  • Asset manager

Should you use it? These tools are all available in the business manager. We’ve personally never enjoyed using Ad Espresso apart from their awesome articles.

Analytics Facebook Marketing Tools

26. Google Analytics

Google Analytics

What this tool does: This tool gives you the most amount of analytics you can imagine on your Facebook ads. Just make sure you set up your UTM tags in your Facebook ad URL and you’ll get as much data as you want.

Should you use it? Yes, this is our favourite analytics tool for Facebook ads by far. They allow you to understand the demographics of your ad, the revenue is made, and much more. It does require a bit more expertise to understand, but it’s totally worth it.

27. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports Facebook Marketing Tool

What this tool does: We chose this tool for our Facebook marketing tools list because it allows you to better track your Facebook ads because tracking Facebook ads can be very complicated. Imagine, someone clicked on your Facebook ad, then click on your Google ad, then clicked on your Facebook ad again to finally purchase. You would see a purchase from Google and one from Facebook.

Should you use it? Yes, we truly recommend using this tool, although maybe wait until you spend at least $5,000 per month on multiple channels like Facebook ads, Google ads, Linkedin ads, etc.

28. Facebook Analytics

Facebook Analytics Tool

What’s this tool does: This tool allows you to dive into your Facebook statistics a bit deeper than in the ads manager. It offers some great general insights and you can build your custom dashboard like in Google Analytics.

Should you use it? Yes, you should, because some of these insights are available nowhere else and it’s free.

29. AdStage

Ad Stage Facebook Marketing Tool

What this tool does: This tool allows you to create a dashboard with all your data and to automate certain optimization tasks in your Facebook business manager.

Should you use it? It’s a great tool if you don’t like Google Analytics or Facebook Analytics, but in our opinion, it’s pretty useless since you can create your own rules in the business manager itself and you have access to all the data you need on Facebook Analytics or Google Analytics. It could be interesting if you want to gather all your social media data in the same place, but even then, you will always get better data on the platforms themselves.

Landing Page Facebook Marketing Tools

30. LeadPages

LeadPages Marketing Tool

What this tool does: This tool allows you to create websites, landing pages, pop-up forms and alerts.

Should you use it? If you know how to use a tool such as Elementor, there’s no need to use it. If you don’t have a fast way of building landing pages, you should choose this between Unbounce, Instapage & Leadpages.

31. Unbounce

Unbounce Facebook Marketing Tool

What’s this tool does: We chose this tool for our Facebook marketing tools list because it allows you to create landing pages, popups and sticky bars just like LeadPages.

Should you use it? At this stage, it’s really about personal preference between LeadPages, Unbounce and Instapage to build your landing pages. Again, for the best landing pages, Elementor is the best tool in our opinion.

32. Instapage

Instapage Facebook Marketing Tool

What does this tool do: This tool allows you to create landing pages for your Facebook ads.

Should you do it? It’s an important Facebook marketing tool, but you should pick your favourite between Instapage, LeadPages and Unbounce. Again, the best landing page creator for your Facebook ads is Elementor, but it definitely requires more expertise.

33. Elementor + WordPress

Elementor Facebook Marketing Tool

What does this tool do: This Facebook marketing tool allows you to create any website or landing page in pretty much any way you want and with any feature you want. If you can imagine something, you can probably create it with Elementor.

You can design:

  • Header and footer
  • Single post
  • Post archive
  • Integrate WooCommerce
  • Search page
  • 404 page

You have access to:

  • An editor (live editing and drag and drop editor)
  • Design options such as typography, layout and colours
  • Marketing options to improve your conversions & social engagement
  • Pop-Ups
  • A lot of integrations
  • And much more…

Should you use it? While the statement above is bold, it is true. Elementor does require more expertise and a better idea of what makes an amazing landing page, but the possibilities are endless. It’s our favourite landing page for your Facebook ads.

Messenger Facebook Marketing Tools

34. SendPulse

SendPulse Chatbot
Sendpulse Chatbot

What does this tool do: apart from having one of the most intuitive Facebook chatbot builders on the market, SendPulse helps marketers to automate emails, SMS and web push notifications.

Should you use it? Due to the multichannel nature of the platform, marketers have the opportunity to send marketing campaigns via Facebook Messenger as well as other media. Here is a short guide on how to create a chatbot and get you started with Messenger marketing.

35. Manychat

Manychat Facebook

What does this tool do: Manychat is a Facebook messaging and SMS automation platform.

Should you use it? This is our favourite messenger bot tool because it is easy to use and the options Manychat has are amazing. You can create an ad going directly into an automated conversation with your Facebook page through messenger.

36. ChatFuel

Chatfuel Facebook Marketing Tool

What does this tool do: Chatfuel is a Facebook Messenger chatbot automation tool.

Should you use it? We prefer Manychat because they have many features and are quite affordable, but some people prefer the features of Chatfuel.

Other chatbots to look at include ChatBot Builder, which helps create free facebook chatbot in minutes and convert your leads to clients.
